We are Still Grooming + Last Wednesday Night Supper

Good morning from Bathurst and Club #1. First we would like to thank Mecanique J Clair from Quebec who supply our Pisten Bully groomers forsponsoring our lastWednesday night supper of the year. It was well attended and the meal was delicious. The Nepisiguit Lodge remains closed for the season as the traffic has grounded to a halt. Secondly we would also thank all of our faithful sponsors and all members and non members fortheir patronage for without them our club would have a tough time for survival.

Back to grooming and last night we had Jacob out on the #3 from Rogers Lake and he groomed the Cal Loop and the 22 out towards the Sugar Shack. There is still some riding left and some of it may be deemed Hard Core but most of it is perfect. Gary and Kevin ran from Nepisiguit to Serpentine on Tuesday and they reported except for stretches between TV Tower and Governors, the trails were decent, especially from Governors to Serpentine. Jacob also reported the same on his groomer run last night on Trail 22 and today they are forecasting a little snow, so that will help with lubrication. We still have some clubs grooming here in the north with the Super Village grooming the 24 to their clubhouse from Trail 19 last night. Over near Edmundston, we have clubs 29 and 44 grooming as well.

Nous tenons tout d'abord à remercier Mécanique J Clair du Québec, fournisseur de nos dameuses Pisten Bully, pour son parrainage de notre dernier souper du mercredi soir de l'année. L'événement a connu un franc succès et le repas était délicieux. Le Nepisiguit Lodge demeure fermé pour la saison, la circulation étant totalement à l'arrêt. Nous remercions également tous nos fidèles commanditaires, ainsi que tous les membres et non-membres, pour leur soutien indéfectible. Sans eux, la survie de notre club serait compromise.

Pour en revenir au damage, hier soir, Jacob a damé la piste n° 3 au départ de Rogers Lake, notamment la boucle Cal et la piste n° 22 en direction de la Cabane à Sucre. Il reste encore du temps pour la pratique du ski, certaines portions étant peut-être considérées comme difficiles, mais la plupart sont en parfait état. Gary et Kevin ont roulé de Nepisiguit à Serpentine mardi et ont rapporté que, hormis quelques tronçons entre la Tour de télévision et Governors, les sentiers étaient corrects, surtout entre Governors et Serpentine. Jacob a également signalé le même problème hier soir sur la piste 22, et on prévoit un peu de neige aujourd'hui, ce qui devrait améliorer la lubrification. Certains clubs continuent de damer les pistes dans le nord, notamment le Super Village qui a damé la piste 24 jusqu'à son club-house depuis la piste 19 hier soir. Près d'Edmundston, les clubs 29 et 44 sont également à l'œuvre.
