Good morning from Bathurst:

Just a little update concerning the Nepisiguit Lodge facility. We had an unfortunate incident this past weekend with our septic system. We had to shut down the facility on last Saturday afternoon. Since then with help from volunteers and persistence, we got the job done. Subsequently the lodge will be back in full force on Saturday. The staff will continue to serve the public Saturday and Sunday until the full opening of the lodge on December 15th, snow permitting. Until then, we will continue to serve all public, including all ATV and side-by-side traffic. If you haven’t experienced the new improved trail from East Bathurst, I urge you to check this new and improved trail out providing you have an ATV or S X S.

On another note, the club #1 is still working on the trail system. The club has a redecking of a bridge to be completed in the next two weeks. Also, the snowmobile trail permits will become available on October 15. We urge all our members and anyone interested in joining club #1 to pick up their early bird permits before December 15. All New Brunswick’s residents will do it online and if our out of province members could do the same, that will cut down the paperwork for the club as well. Make sure when you are signing to click off Club #1. We will also have locations in PEI and NS where you can physically obtain a full permit off line.

Voici quelques nouvelles concernant les installations du Nepisiguit Lodge. Nous avons connu un incident regrettable le week-end dernier avec notre système septique, ce qui nous a obligés à fermer l'établissement samedi après-midi. Grâce à la persévérance et à l'aide de bénévoles, nous avons réussi à régler le problème. Le lodge sera donc de nouveau pleinement opérationnel ce samedi. Le personnel continuera d'accueillir le public samedi et dimanche, en attendant l'ouverture complète du lodge le 15 décembre (si les conditions d'enneigement le permettent). D'ici là, nous restons ouverts à tous, y compris aux usagers de VTT et de véhicules côte-à-côte (SXS). Si vous n'avez pas encore emprunté le nouveau sentier amélioré au départ d'East Bathurst, je vous encourage vivement à le découvrir si vous possédez un VTT ou un côte-à-côte.

Par ailleurs, le Club n° 1 poursuit ses travaux sur le réseau de sentiers. Le club doit notamment refaire le tablier d'un pont au cours des deux prochaines semaines. De plus, les permis pour les sentiers de motoneige seront disponibles à partir du 15 octobre. Nous invitons tous nos membres, ainsi que toute personne souhaitant rejoindre le Club n° 1, à se procurer leur permis en prévente avant le 15 décembre. Les résidents du Nouveau-Brunswick peuvent effectuer cette démarche en ligne ; si nos membres venant d'autres provinces pouvaient faire de même, cela réduirait considérablement la charge administrative du club. Lors de l'inscription, veillez bien à sélectionner le Club n° 1. Des points de vente physiques seront également disponibles à l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard et en Nouvelle-Écosse pour ceux qui souhaitent obtenir un permis complet hors ligne.
