Trails are Sketchy

Update, Thursday 1.30 PM

Ron got the groomer floated to Rogers Lake and Jacob proceeded with grooming from There on Trail 23 to Nepisiguit Lodge. I also got an email from Rene who has a camp in the Forty Cluster and he claims the California Loop is still in good condition. So I’m thinking when Jacob returns from Nepisiguit he will run through the Cal Loop back to Rogers Lake on the 22 and 507.

Ron a fait transporter la dameuse jusqu'au lac Rogers et Jacob a ensuite damé la piste 23 jusqu'au Nepisiguit Lodge. J'ai également reçu un courriel de René, qui possède un campement dans le secteur des Forty Clusters, et il affirme que la boucle californienne est toujours en bon état. Je pense donc qu'à son retour de Nepisiguit, Jacob empruntera la boucle californienne pour rejoindre le lac Rogers par les pistes 22 et 507.

Good moring from Bathurst and Club #1. It is -12 C at post. Let us look at our trail system this morning. First, Trail 19 from Bass River and Bathurst (Atlantic Host) to Trail 23 are closed due to lack of snow and or ice. Trail 23 From Nepisig Chaleur System is good. Trail 23 from Rogers Lake thruogh Red Pine Shelter to Popple Depot is ok, but bare spots above TV Tower road Trail 550 to Popple Depot, Trail 503 is very sketchy as there isn’t enough base to cover rocks but may be considered doable with caution. This morning Ron is floating one groomer from Bathurst back up to Rogers Lake and Jacob will be taking it out on a Trail check in the near vicinity of Rogers Lake later this morning. We will report on his findings.

Other clubs that groomed a bit so far since the meltdown are the Restigoughe Clubs on Trail22, and the Moose Valley Club. I will be talking to Alyre at Serpentine for a report from him as he has visitors that are still riding the trails. There is a lot of black {closed trails) in the province at this time. Going forward I’m looking at the weather forecast and it does not look promising as there doesn’t appear to be much snow in the 14 day forecast, but we will keep one groomer on standby for now.

We had our supper last night and it was well attended considering there was not a snowmobile in the yard. We want to thank Blanchards Ready Mix and Doucet’s Landscaping for hosting last nights supper. We will be having our last supper for the season on next Wednesday. It will be a turkey supper and tickets will be available at the Lodge and from Curts Auto. See pics below.

Bonjour de Bathurst et du Club n° 1. Il fait -12 °C ici. Jetons un coup d'œil à notre réseau de sentiers ce matin. Tout d'abord, le sentier 19, de Bass River et Bathurst (Atlantic Host) au sentier 23, est fermé en raison du manque de neige et/ou de glace. Le sentier 23, depuis le réseau Nepisig Chaleur, est praticable. Le sentier 23, de Rogers Lake à Popple Depot en passant par Red Pine Shelter, est correct, mais présente des zones déneigées au-dessus de la route de la tour de télévision. Le sentier 550, jusqu'à Popple Depot, est très délicat car la couche de neige est insuffisante pour recouvrir les rochers, mais il peut être praticable avec prudence. Ce matin, Ron ramène une dameuse de Bathurst à Rogers Lake et Jacob l'utilisera pour une inspection des sentiers aux alentours de Rogers Lake plus tard dans la matinée. Nous vous ferons part de ses observations.

Parmi les autres clubs qui ont damé un peu depuis la fonte des neiges, citons les clubs de Restigoughe sur le sentier 22 et le club de Moose Valley. Je vais contacter Alyre à Serpentine pour avoir son rapport, car des visiteurs profitent encore des sentiers. Il y a beaucoup de pistes noires (fermées) dans la province en ce moment. Je consulte les prévisions météo, et elles ne sont pas encourageantes, car il ne semble pas y avoir beaucoup de neige prévue dans les 14 prochains jours. Nous garderons toutefois une dameuse en réserve pour l'instant.

Nous avons dîné hier soir et il y avait beaucoup de monde, surtout qu'il n'y avait pas de motoneige dans la cour. Nous remercions Blanchards Ready Mix et Doucet's Landscaping de nous avoir accueillis pour le souper d'hier soir. Notre dernier souper de la saison aura lieu mercredi prochain. Ce sera un souper de dinde, et les billets seront disponibles au chalet et chez Curts Auto.
