Trails are Hard

10:00 AM - January 27, 2024

Good morning from Bathurst. Well in the past few days we lost another snowfall that we were promised and that can be a bit concerning going forward. With the cool temps, no fresh grooming snow, constant grooming and sled traffic, this is a perfect remedy for a salty trail surface. What I mean by salty is when you have the above conditions, the surface turns to small ice crystals. This phenomenon makes for a loose surface and grooming it is not an ideal situation plus riding on it is very noticeable in sled handling.

Back to the trails the # 2  Groomer was out last night with Francois at the helm from Nepisiquit lodge to Rogers lake to Popple Depot on Trail 23 and back through Rogers lake and to Nepisiquit lodge. The #1 will be brought back to the shop to interchange the bush cutter for the blade attachment.

I personally want to thank everyone for all their wonderful comments on my yesterday's post. It truly has been a wonderful run for me over the years. One thing you should understand about volunteering. You have to take ownership of the job and when you get that idea, the job becomes more gratifying. Still waiting for that call from the next web blogger.  May I repeat, that it is not  haŕd as you may think. Have a great weekend and safe sledding.
