Good Morning from Bathurst: This morning Ron has some volunteers along with the #1 groomer going to open up the 503 from Popple Depot to Simpson Fields on Trail 19. If you are willing to help meet anywhere on 503 and start cutting & throwing. BUT, he also stated that a crew went through and reported no trees down. The 503 will be good to go after today.
I'm not sure if the problem with the #2 has been resolved, but Ron is headed up today to check on it, There was a problem with the steering (computer glitch). All indications of trail conditions seemed to be positive out of Rogers Lake and the Nepisiguit groomers are doing their best with what they have to work with as snow conditions vary greatly from area to area. (generally better as you go west and north out of Rogers Lake).
Trails are still closed from Bathurst, Peninsula and the Mirarmichi. Need more snow and freeze. The head pond at Nepisiguit is still "cross at your own risk" just like all other water crossings. BUT we never lost the ice since November. There are reported windfalls down from the Lodge down "The Line" Trail 19. Need crews to clean this mess up.
The Nepisiguit Lodge still remains closed due to the lack of traffic from Bathurst, the Peninsula and the Miramichi.
