Getting the Trails Ready for this Week

10:00 AM - January 22, 2024

We've just went through our busiest week of the season, which also seen our biggest snowfall on Tuesday. Yesterday we groomed from the shop doow to Bass River and back to Nepisiguit Lodge on trails 19 and 23 with the #1 groomer. The #2 had a big day grooming trail 23 from Nepisiguit to Popple Depot, then back Rogers Lake, Nine Mile Shelter, and then down to Nepisiguit where both groomers were stationed overnight.

All in all, considering the amounts of snow we have, thetrails are as good as can be expected,  especially with traffic. Looking at the long range forecast, there might be a total of 20 cm in the next two weeks. One thing going for ùs is that the temps are consistently below zero.

The #1 groomer got fitted with the Bush cutter and on it's run mentioned above,  there are some branches that may be on the trail bed from Bass River to the Nepisiguit Lodge.  If anyone is so inclined,  it would be appreciated if cleaning the trail bed from the cut branches.

Ron will be out on a trail check today with a NBFSC rep. Primarily checking signs conforming with their standards.
