Saturday Club #1
Our two running groomers were out since early yesterday. The # 1 Mickey did Rogers Lake heading east on 23 to highway 430 then turned back up 23 to Nine Mile Shelter then trail 22 to 22-301 intersection then turned back to 507-23 to RL. The # 2 with Ron from the shop in East Bathurst Trail 19 to the Nepisiguit Lodge to Highway 430 then turned back towards the Atlantic Host. Change of operators with Jacob on Trail 19 during the night and he proceeded to the host then turned back and to the shop in East Bathurst.
There was a fair amount of traffic and the trails are getting tore up and soft, so we need to do what we can before the start of the day, which will be a busy day with this nice weather. This weather looks like it will carry on for a week so get out and ride as we don’t know how this season will end. I was talking with some sledders and they said these big machines with the huge paddle tracks really do a number on the trails. Frankly I don’t see the point in these big paddles when riding on a groomed trail.
Again a big thank you to all who made our lottery a success. We are planning for the draw this Sunday Feb 14 at Bathurst City Hall at 1 PM. Mayor Lee Stever will be in attendance along with our committee members as well as our executive. Dave Brewster will represent the club with the draw. We plan on live streaming or video which will be shown later.
