A Stop Sign means "STOP"

09:00 AM - February 08, 2024

Grooming last night saw the # 1 groomer leave Rogers Lake on 23 to 507 to 22 to 30, then south on 22 to Nine Mile shelter, then east on 23 down to route 430 and back to Rogers Lake on 23. The # 2 was out of Nepisiguit on Trail 23 and 19 to the Atlantic Host, then back to the Lodge continuing up to Route 430 to where the #1 turned then back to the Lodge. Trails are in good shape after this last snow.

Tonight's Wing Night is sponsored by RH Frenette and Blue Roof Distillers. These events are and have been a great hit of our snowmobiler public as well as our local public so if you haven't already attended one, we're inviting you to give it a try.

Getting back to today's headline a SAFETY issue has been brought to our attention. We got a concern from a citizen regarding snowmobiles not stopping at stop signs on the railbed on trail 19 near East Bathurst. Their message : We’re very concerned about the stop signs on Sutherland Ave on Snowmobile trails, the snowmobiles are not stopping and we just witnessed a truck coming out the road and Snowmobile flying by. This has happened a few times. They are hauling wood and the truck driver said he almost hit someone. Our message is that stop ahead and stop signs are put up for that reason, it means "STOP". It is incumbent on our snowmobilers to heed these signs. THANK YOU!!!!!!
