Nice Dump of Snow + Update 11.30

Update 11;30AM Francois is just returning to Rogers Lake after grooming to Popple Depot on Piston Alley and the 506. Next is 507, Trail 22 and the California Loop. with Mickey at the helm..

That was a pretty good dump over early Sunday morning with well over 40 cm. Too much too late. All dry snow so it was easy to move. It took Ron almost 6 hours to get to Nepisiguit Falls from Rogers Lake, but he did do the 507 into Austin Brook. Francois took over at the Falls last night and moved west with the groomer. I’ll keep you updated on his progress, but first let me explain how Ron got to Rogers Lake. As I mentioned in my post yesterday about the road Highway 430 was not plowed in previous storm. Such was the case yesterday. He and Doug McLean made the trip by snowmobile via the 430 to Rogers Lake. They encountered drifts up over 4 ft on the road. Thankfully, two sledders with paddle tracks had already broke trail and the rest is history. Thanks Doug.

If anyone wanted to go “ditch banging”, you wouldn’t have to go in any ditches for what fell yesterday. The weather going forward could be on the wet side as it shows rain from Tuesday evening into Friday as they are forecasting up to 70mm of rain in that period. Such has been the case all winter. Hard to catch a break with weather like this, but this is late March and it is of no surprise.
