Here we are in the First Day of March

09:00 AM - March 01, 2022

Here we are in the first day of March where snowmobiling takes on a whole new look. The temperatures are a little easier to take, but also that takes its consequences on the trails. The days are longer and the sun is higher therefore even with -5 temps during the day it still has the melting effect and this is the reason that we can take those 5 cm flurries to keep the base up and of course we all know that this is March and we can get some big dumpings of snow. So far it has been a decent season trail wise and we managed through a couple of mild spells and the trails have been decent overall. So get out and enjoy the trails. If I heard correctly, the Fredericton Club has loaned its groomer to the park for a few days and will help in doing the trails in the Christmas Mts.   NOTE For your info:     DIT ploughed Trail 19 into Blue Mountain pit for sand Yesterday. This is approx  1/2Km of trail off of highway 430. They will try to stay on one side. This will only be for a couple of days and once they are through we will touch it back up.  Oh, by the way, on yesterdays post I caught a few people off guard with no grooming for three days and those days were Feb 29, 30 & 31. Sorry Paul, it was a little Joke. I did get a call from NS on this and after explaining we had a great laugh.

Grooming yesterday and last night: # 1 ran from Rogers Lake up Piston Alley, 503 to Simpson Fields on Trail 19, back down to Governors and did the 506 Dry Gulch Cluster and back to Rogers Lake. Last night the # 2 ran Trail 19 from East Bathurst to Nepisiguit Lodge then back to the Atlantic Host on Trail 19. Last night the #3 Big Blue was supposed to run the Trail 23 from Nepisiguit to Rogers Lake and back, but when the operator checked it over before starting, he discovered a flat tire. It will be fixed today. Given what happened to Big Blue Francois Went to Rogers Lake and took over on the #1 after it returned and mad the run to Nepisiguit and back. Great teamwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
