Grooming. Day 2

10:00 AM - January 12, 2024

-10 at post in Bathurst on what is going to be a clear cool day. Please read yesterday's post if you haven't already.

Due to a little blip we didn't get down to East Bathurst on Trail 19 and we'll see what happens today.  The #1 will head out this morning to Popple Depot on Piston Alley, Trail 23, and make 4 passes to get that trail packed from ditch to ditch. The #2 I'm assuming will head to East Bathurst on Trail 19 East and then back to Bathurst on Trail 19 West. Please note that all clusters have been groomed in our system with the exception of the  Dry Gulch 506. This will be done tomorrow.

Conditions are decent, considering the amount of snow we have from Nine Mile East road heading west on Trails 23 and 22. From Nepisiguit Lodge west on 23 to Nine Mile East rd is doable. What we need now is a good freeze and yes, more snow, which we may get tomorrow.

Looking at the NBFSC trail map, it shows a few clubs that are grooming. The Tracadie club has groomed Trail 23 to the 19/23 intersection.  The Campbellton club has groomed 17 to Kedgwick. And Moose Valley have all their trails groomed. I'm assuming the Mt Carlton Park will be grooming soon.

It is early yet and conditions are not even close to perfect, so the advice is to drive with caution and yes, don't "Run & Gun". Save some trail for the next sledder.
