Saturday, Jan 15th, 2022, Club #1
First the trail report: With the #2 back in action we are seeing much more grooming with all of our trails being touched up except for the clusters, which I’m sure we’ll see some headway there. The trails have been groomed from the Atlantic Host and Bass River all the way to Popple Depot on trails 18 and 23 with the #2 doing the bulk of the work and it was also over the 503, which had not seen a groomer since the break down of our #2 Groomer. While in the Popple area it also did the 506 into the Dry Gulch cluster. it is still on the trail with Roger at the helm at post. Thanks to Big Blue our #3 groomer, it kept us a bit above water and yesterday was no different with its grooming back form Nepisiguit to Rogers Lake the Cal loop and Trail 22 to the 302 that leads to the Sugar Shack. At post Jacob has it out from Rogers Lake down to Nepisiguit on trail 23 and will be back to Rogers Lake sometime this AM. I will update later on further grooming.
Now on to the lock-down and if you would read yesterday’s post you will see the complete picture, but this will be our status of operation until the final day of lock-down on Jan 30 midnight. As a result of our executive meeting yesterday we are going to keep the lodge open as a warming station with absolutely no eating inside. The kitchen will be open for take-out orders and only non alcohol beverages. Due to the government guidelines our operating hours will be cut back to alleviate our costs. We feel that this is only fair to keep the lodge open under the current circumstances although we may suffer financially in the meantime. We will have fuel during the hours that we are open. OUR OPERATING HOURS WILL BE FROM 12 NOON TO 6 PM EACH DAY OF THE LOCK-DOWN STARTING TODAY.
