Update 7.15 AM: Roger #1 Groomer . Left shop at 5 AM and was working on drifts along Rough Waters trail 19. This would take 3 hours. He will then groom up to Nepisiguit Lodge, 502 Austin Brook, Nine Mile Shelter, Doucet road cluster, 509 and finish at Rogers Lake. Shift change with Mickey. He will work West on 23-507-22-301 back out 22, 508 40 cluster, 22, nine mile cluster, 22 to NMS, 23 into Rogers lake. Last night Jacob ran the #2 after the repair at Blue Mountain Pit Trail 19 to the Highway 360, turned back and finished at the Atlantic Host in Bathurst. This Morning Ron will run it from there and do trails 500 and the 501. When he returns to the Host, Bryan or Jacob will groom to Nepisiguit then west on Trail 23 to Nine Mile Shelter, the California Loop (22, 507, 23, Rog Lake, NMS), back to Nepisiguit. Note that these runs will take time as they are dealing with a lot of drifts and there is always that possibility of getting stuck. We have already encountered this, but the boys managed to get themselves out. It is much easier with a four track groomer.
It has been a rough two days with 40 cm and howling winds causing drifting and on top of that, a groomer breaks down. We got it back up and running last night. Things will hopefully get better as this day goes forward. Please read yesterdays report to understand what I’m saying. We have two groomers on the move this morning. We could have Big Blue running at the end of today as well. It was just too much for it with the drifting.
I’ll update this at 8AM
