We had an opportunity this week to come and enjoy your trail system again. It was amazing how little snow there was around Bathurst. But at the same time, even that trail was great. Thanks to operators like Leo, who we talked to for a bit on the railway bed from Nepisiguit. Thanks to all you guys for some amazing snowmobiling.  Oh, and thanks for all the updates Don. Without you we would be planning in the dark.

Hi all, I was up sledding with friends on Jan 9, and 10th..The trails were pretty good with some branches hear and there, but thanks to Jim Gillis, Gus Lavigne, Stan Beaton, and many more that helped with the miles of down trees and blocked trails we had a good weekend. I was talking to Jim and he told me of the work he and others had put in all week...My hat goes off to these people,as they work hard in retirement, (volunteering) their time and labour...I would just like to say THANKS and that it realy doesnt go unnoticed...and all the Volunteers deserve a big Thank-You for a job well done. Hope to see you all soon on the trails as well. Thanks Again from Charles, Mahone Bay N.S

Just wanted to thank you so much for all the information you post every day on the Nepisiquit site. We really enjoy all your good information regarding the groomed trails. If it wasn't for you we wouldn't know when to come to snowmobile. It's your info that makes us plan our trips to Bathurst.
Our good friends were so impressed with the good trails they had when they came in February.
We are so impressed with how devoted you are to Nepisiquit trails. Being a volunteer isn't always easy as you know but I can tell you that you are appreciated more than you know.
Again thanks for all your effort to make snowmobiling a delight to all of us.

Love the hospitality and great trails we experienced last week on our annual snowmobile trip in Northern New Brunswick. Special thanks to Atlantic Host, Nespisquit Sports Lodge, Serpentine and Governor's for good food and a welcoming environment. The trails were especially well maintained around road crossings, corners and other areas of risk. Looking forward to returning next year. Many thanks to Don for maintaining the website, I enjoy the constant updates on trail conditions. Sure makes trip planning easier and more successful. We made it to the top of Mount Carleton for the first time, awesome even though the weather was wild at the time.

Just came back from yet another wonderful snowmobile experience in N.B. The trails were in excellent condition. The cold weather of Thursday to Friday made for some poor lube and cooling conditions on Friday. But what a gorgeous day to be on top of Mount Carleton. The view was amazing. I attached some pictures, but they hardly do it justice. Thanks a lot for all the work you and your team put into the trail system. It was much appreciated by my son and I.

I would like to take the time to say Thank you to all the people that have contributed in this beautiful work of keeping the trail to the highest standard possible. You were able to provide myself and lot of my friend's a wonderful experience of snowmobiling again this year (12 Week-end this year). Like any good thing it has to come to an end(Not ready yet) but we have to do it anyway.
Thank you ever so much for your dedication and patience for all those long night of working out there for the people that love this sport.

We had an absolutely fabulous time and I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the guidance and help you provided Dave in planning this trip.  We stayed at the Atlantic Host, HoJo's in Campbellton, Chalets Restigouche in Kedgewick River and then Governor's.  All the accommodations were much more than we expected as far as friendly service, extra clean and comfortable accommodations and great food.  We visited some very hospitable snowmobile clubs on the way where everyone made us feel welcomed. The trails were great and, for a rookie like me, I felt very safe.  I told David that I would love to do this again and I am hoping that he will plan another trip next year.

Had a great couple of days on the trails, Bathurst to Chaleur to Island Lake and Governor's then back to Bathurst via Nepisiguit on Friday. Bathurst to Nepisiguit then "Fins and Feathers" run on Saturday. In my opinion, Nepisiguit Club has the best grooming!

Hi. first, i would like to take a minute to thank you on the great job you are doing on this site for all the info and updates every day. this info is great to travellers going to your trails which i visit frequently every season and a big thank you to all your help and groomer operators for great trails. I was wondering about trail 58. We travel from doaktown north trailering from st. john and most times it is not groomed. I know about the trouble keeping this trail open. is it a joint effort by the doaktown and nepisiquit clubs? You don"t talk much about this trail so i was wondering if it was yours to groom. keep up the good work.

Yo Don; excelent job done next to key anacon road with the blade to level off the trail. Yesterday going to the super we noticed that CNR widened the track banks and the same leveling thing will have to be done along that strech as it is quite dangerous the way it is now. Great job and keep it up for our sake.

Tim: Allardville
 (2/8/2009)
During the week end I heard a lot of complaining about the trail conditions and I guess you have to expect that even at the best of times . I was on my way to work and on other roads plus out for a run and found all the trails to be in excellent shape. This has to be praised as I know what kind of shape trails were in this past week end. Great job in such a short time. I think people have to be reminded that our groomers are not like a car or a light truck, the units are getting older and work very hard all the time. We here at Nepisiguit have the best trail system I have ever ridden. Thanks again Don Keep up the good work.

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, WE SPENT A WEEK, NEW YEARS EVE, UP AT THE HOST. WE HAD AN EXCELLENT TIME. TRAILS WERE A 7 OUT OF 10 COMPARED TO YOUR USUAL 10 OUT OF 10. WE ACCEPTED YOUR PRIOR ADVICE ON TRAIL CONDITIONS AND FULLY UNDERSTOOD NOT TO GET OUR HOPES TO HIGH AS THE SNOW WAS LATE THIS YEAR.

THE TRAILS WERE EXCELLENT WITH ONLY A FEW WASH-OUTS THAT WERE CLEARED UP BEFORE WE RETURNED HOME. WE HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE TRAIL CONDITIONS ON LINE AND WILL BE RETURNING SOON WITH MORE FRIENDS, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Some pic's of our Snowmobile trip this past week.......-40 deg C (Morning's) both days......had to use an emergency blanket & hair dryer to pre-heat the snowmobiles so they would start. Way to cold for sledding….we will wait until March for our next trip up……Enjoyed the great trails & hospitality at Governor’s & Serpetine…

Don
Friday  5 of us were on our way to Campbellton and one rider left the trail 20kms past the 9 mile warming shelter and landed in a brook. I don't know how it really happened except for calling it bad luck. The sled broke through the brook and he got wet from just above his knees and down and it was cold.
So we made it back to a warming shelter and some people stopped by. One was Ryan a friend of Doodles. They took very good care of all of us but we were very concerned for Tim, the wet one.
I just wanted to put a blurb on your site to say how wonderful everyone was to us and how they helped us out. I really want people to know how wonderful Doodles was in helping. He had just opened and wasn't really prerared for our impromptu visit but he fed us and put us up for the night.
So just a BIG THANK YOU to everyone.
We will return when it gets warmer...
Tracy

We had a great trip as usual, just wish we wish we could have stayed Saturday night as well (it looks quite busy around the host Saturday morning).  As we discussed, we are always impressed with the condition of the trails and the hospitality from you guys in Bathurst.  You guys certainly know how to manage the trail systems regardless of how much or little snow you have to work with.  You guys are certainly the #1 Club for all the right reasons!!

Thanks Don for all your dedication to the sport. I read your reports almost daily, it is a huge task to keep your trails in good condition, especially with a Winter like we just had. Once again you folks at nepsiguit lodge have outdone yourselve's with the ongoing & crazy amount of grooming & snowfall you've received this past season. It is quite an accomplishment just being able to keep up with the many repairs to the groomers that you've had to deal with this season.I only have 1 question for you Don,do you sleep at all during the winter months? lol I would just like to say a big thank-you from myself & my snowmobiling friends from the southern region. Your continious work & effort on the website & trail management is why your club is #1 in the province .I dont know why or how you keep things running so smoothly but you deserve some sort of reward IMO.

Don:We would like to thank you so very much for all the good info you have provided this winter regarding the Nepisiguit Trail system. You certainly do an excellent job with your reports. We plan our trips up there by your reports and they usually never fail. We go to the Nepisiguit site first thing in the morning.
We just love riding your trails and enjoy the hospitality we receive from all of you.
Our friends the Millard's drive for 2 days each your to come from Ontario to ride your trails even though  they have snowmobile trails in their back yard. That tells you a lot about how much they enjoy your smooth trails and the hospitality and friendliness that they find in the Barthurst area.
Your trails have certainly been the best we've ever seen them.
Lord willing, we will be riding your trails again next year.
Again thanks for everything.

Great job you guys did on the trails last weekend.  We left Saturday morning from the cabin. Trail was groomed and travelled from the Lodge to trail 22, then we were on virgin groom trails clear to the 19.  We left Island Lake for Tidehead around 11:30 and broke trail, 18-24" snow plus drifts as high as
four feet for about twenty miles, where we met our first sleds.  We went up as far as Tidehead and returned the same way.  Trails from Balmoral back had not seen a groomer and were pretty rough.  Once again back on Nepesiquit trails and trails were once again perfect.  Good job to you and the girls at the Lodge and the boys in the groomers!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that we were out on the trails yesterday, and they were really good in your section. One thing you did not mention in your trail report. There is 2 other washouts before you get to the nine mile rd. We marked them as best we could with flagging tape. 1 is really bad. I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't to maybe bring a few extra pallets if you can to fix those also. I commend you for your up to date trail conditions. I volunteer for the St antoine snowmobile club, so I understand how many few people actually get involved.

Being a volunteer is somewhat like being a hockey referee, it’s a thankless job for the most part… I know, I volunteer myself.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, you folks up on the northern triangle do a superior job in making our sport of snowmobiling what it is today.  Especially your club, where you make that extra effort in providing timely updates on you web site, you certainly go above and beyond the call.

I just wanted to thank you again for yet another great season in your area. There are a lot of clubs that should take notice on how well organized your club is, but unfortunatly a lot of clubs see it as some form of competition & rather than work together they seem to be more after the mighty dollar. I used to think that our local club was the best there was, but after spending the majority of my last 2 seasons in the Bathurst area I couldn't have been more wrong.Once again thank-you Don for all the effort you put in to this sport.

We were over to Bathurst twice this year from PEI. It was the highlite of the winter. No snow on PEI for the second year in a row. This was our third year of coming to this area. You're website is one of the best I have seen. Very informative. Really appreciated the updates so frequently. It takes a lot of time and dedication to do that. And for that I thank you. Hope to be back next year. Greetings from Rustico, PEI.

The loop to Edmunston,Campbelton and back down via 19 then to Jacquet River club ? then back to Chaleur. ALL the trails were freshly groomed at least once. On a scale of 10 it was 9.5 or better. Folks, Was up to Bathurst on Tuesday last week and stayed until Saturday.Considering the poor winter this season & the bad luck with the groomers we were delighted with the great trails again this year. We joined the club for their final supper...great meal / great people! Thanks goes out to my buddy who took me for a scoot on his new Elite...what a fantastic machine!! On our way to Edmunston we broke a rear suspension on one of the machines..managed to limp to a nearby home outside St. Quentin to seek help...the fella offered to shuttle the machine to Edmunston to a dealer. The dealer promptly had the machine fixed before noon the following day for our return trip back to Bathurst. All we want to say is "THANKS" to everyone including the; Host for their hospatality, the Nespisiquit club volunteers for their fantastic trail system, The Chaleur club for their great trail system & to Mark of Governor's Wilderness Lodge for a great nights stay. You folks do not go unrecognized...you do have our support with regard toour trail pass $$ & will continue to in the future. Do not change a thing....keep up the fantastic job! Great trails all week and a fantistic job well done by all the volunteers to give all us who live in no snow areas a place to snowmobile. I might add that despite the groomer problems as well. The trails were great once again even with all the mechnical failures on the groomers.Once again my sincere thanks to you and your crew for the outstanding work that you do. Just to say that 3 of us from Moncton were up in Bathurst these past 2 days and visited the Serpentine Lodge. Conditions to & from were exceptional and if you are not taking the time to do this run from Governers Lodge to Serpentine, you are missimg out on the best trails in the system up north!!! Do yourself a favour and make this great trip! If you do not, you will be missing the "gem" of the north! There is a great mix of straight trails comprable to piston alley and then you can get into the twisty turns ... something for everyone.

I was there this weekend from thursday to Sunday. Trails were very good thursday afternoon. Headed out early each morning (fri, sat, sun) and were treated to freshly groomed trails in most places. Trails were a mess in many places by the end of the day due to very heavy traffic. When traffic is this heavy it would be difficult if not dangerous to groom.

We reside in southern New Hampshire and have snowmobiled in Maine and New Hampshire over the past years. This past week we decided to travel to our farm in New Bandon , leave from there and head toward the trail system above Bathurst via Trail 19. I had been observing the trail conditions and groomer reports that you had been posting for the last couple of months. The trails were in superb condition and the scenery was great. Your posted descriptions of trail conditions was exactly as you descibed and you and your crews ought to be commended for an outstanding job. We thoroughly enjoyed the couple of days that we travelled the trails and plan on spending more time here in years to come. Thanks for all you do ----- see you next year.

I just arrived back from Bathurst on a too short snowmobile trip. I & two others are from Cape Breton, & we were amazed at the trail system you have. We have some beautiful places to sled on the Island but it can't compare with quality of the trails, signage & many lodges along these trails. It amazed us how much effort goes into the whole snowmobile industry in NB. You guys got it right. See you next year, hopefully you'll have more snow & make those trails even better. In short - we loved it.

I highly recommend this day's trip for anyone who enjoy;s great trails & senery.I personally give the trails all through this trip a 9-10. Well done folks, great grooming & work down by volunteers. Thank You for providing use with some of the best snowmobiling I personally have done through out Canada.

Me and a buddy left from the Atlantic Host and headed North. We wanted to make a loop for our first trip to Bathurst. We headed North on 19 (had to use the Highway bridge, as the ice was not too good)towards Robertville. Then we continued towards the Chaleur Club on 19 west. Conditions were excellent as 4-6 inches of powder laid on top of the freshly groomed trail. We only passed 4 sleds that afternoon while heading toward Island Lake. The trail up to Island Lake was like a sno cross track. I was able to test out the new-to-me sled's suspension. Once we got gas, we headed back towards Bathurst on the 19 East via the 22 and the 23. Both trails were excellent until we hit the are that heads off to the lodge. There seemed to be more traffic down that way which ripped up the trail, but conditions were still great. The twisty section through the woods before the hydroline on the 19 east was a little scratchy in places but you were well-rewarded when you got to the snowcovered hydroline. Very jealous of your trails. I'll be back soon. Well worth the $40 day pass!!!!!

Sean Glazier and myself went up to the lodge today, from blue mountain pit and the trails were pretty good, we never seen any bare spots. Just want to say thank you to the lodge for the great service they provide us here in Bathurst. And that we definitely have the best trail system around, Thanks also to the groomer operator's, great job! Can't wait for the lodge to be open, hope it will be soon because i also met a fair amount of sleds on the trail today so i think everyone is waiting for the good times again this year. Thanks again see you all soon.

well folks, Santa came to Salmon Beach NB at 8:05 pm last night, and he was driving the club groomer. I have not got out to check trail conditions yet, but would say that we need another good storm now, to get up off the ground. Had some very cool temperatures last night, which should freeze up the bottom, and make a good bottom for the groomed trail. anyone out on the trails, please watch, because their may be bare spots, or unfrozen water holes. Collette Maureen and I went up from east to the nepisiquit bridge on Sunday afternoon. Watch for rocks at the edge. We encountered some water in the wet spot about the East Bathurst shelter but once we got out into the burn it was very nice going. The freezing tonight should help. Only one water hole was a problem, with deep ruts through it.

A little late ... in saying a sincere "Thank you!" for an awesome job in grooming down to Jay's Place in Janeville last season. And .. a little early (perhaps) in wishing your club continued success in the upcoming season ... and hopefully, we'll see your groomer down through Salmon Beach & Janeville! :)

Thank you so much for the kind comments. We will be doing our best to serve your area again this winter. Dave B

to: nepisiquit snowmobile club tue, 24 feb, 2004. Well, I finally had a chance to see your grooming job being done up close and personal, over the last week. well gang, great job in east bathurst up to the nepisiquit lodge. also, last night, I noticed that your groomer was in the salmon Beach area. what an improvement from other years, when we would only see the paquet ville groomer once a week, and sometimes even less than that. grooming service has vastly improved in our area this year, thanks to the nb trail system being opened up in east Bathurst. thanks, Nepisiquit for a fine grooming job... keep up the fine work. also find some more snow, to cover those rails west of miramichi ave. Is there a groomed trail out to the esso station on miramichi ave. this year. if so please get some signage up for all of those out of town snow machines, as I had a group in need of fuel over the weekend... I think they had passed by and could not find the esso.... Fortunatly they found the irving station in janeville. (Jays) one more time, good work in our area. thanks again... Kevin Jagoe

Additions to your website are looking great. If I had 1 suggestion I would like to see the hours of operation for your clubhouse added somewhere. I didn't see it and it would be valuable info.

Thanks John for your suggestion and we will do that! See Trail Condition report for now.
